2025 AAU Cross Country National Championships

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (December 3, 2025) -- We are back on the cross country trail in a massive way. As the year winds down, runners from across the nation are heading to Knoxville for the 2025 AAU Cross Country National Championships.
On Saturday, December 6, athletes of all ages will take to the trails at Victor Ashe Park, located in Knoxville, Tennessee for one of the biggest AAU Cross Country national championships ever.
More than 1,800 athletes representing more than 30 states are expected to compete. This is an increase of 200+ athletes from last year’s event - athletes who will be competing in their first AAU Cross Country national championships.
"This is going to be an incredible year for the AAU Cross Country National Championships. Seeing the growth each year is truly something special," said Chad Culver, AAU National Meet Director & Visit Knoxville Sports Commission Senior Director. "Knoxville is a town that has something for everyone, and we look forward to showing the athletes and their families why our city is a special place to compete."
Competitors will race within eight (8) divisions; 6 & Under Boys and Girls, 7–8 Boys and Girls, 9–10 Boys and Girls, 11–12 Boys and Girls, 13–14 Boys and Girls, 15–18 Boys and Girls, Open/Masters Division, as well as the annual AAU Parents/Coaches Run.
Racing will begin with the Open/Masters 5K at 8:20 a.m. The morning will continue with the 15–18 division 5K, 13–14 division 4K, 11–12 division 3K, 9–10 division 3K, 7–8 division 2K, and the 6 & Under 1K. The day will wrap up with the AAU Parents/Coaches 3K.
AAU National Championship medals will be awarded to the top 25 individuals in each division based on year of birth. Team trophies will be presented to the 1st–3rd place teams in the 7–8, 9–10, 11–12, 13–14, and 15–18 divisions, with medals for each member of the top three teams. All-American patches will go to the top 8 individual finishers in every age group, and one team will be crowned the Overall Team Champion.
